I have been inspired my whole life by photography, art and the ocean. The majority of my family, my father Ron Church, mother Shirley Richards, & brother Beau Damon Richards have been and some currently are professional photographers. I grew up in the dark room developing images with my father, I was always so amazed to see a beautiful picture appear on a piece of white paper. My father was the first American on the Cousteau Team. He served as the Deep Sea Pilot for the Deep Star and various other mini submersibles, underwater cinematographer, still photographer and research diver. My home is in Alaska. Painting, diving and enjoying all Alaska's beauty and it's residents. I am PADI® IDC Staff Instructor and am currently working towards Master Instructor. Diving in Alaska has been a very rewarding experience, it has made me a very strong, confident diver. Through teaching SCUBA, I hope to bring many more people down below the waves to enjoy Alaska from a different view. I was the an Intern to the Dive Safety Officer at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport Oregon, diving with the Broadnose Sevengill sharks and assisting with the other habitats in 2006 for a year. I also worked with Eugene Skin Diver Supply in Oregon as an instructor and student, continually adding to my experience and education in diving. I am currently the Scuba Instructor for the Annette Island School District High School in Metlakatla, Alaska. |
